Maria Nazos began writing in high school in direct response to the small Southern Illinois she grew up in: one virtually devoid of artistic expression. Her lack of skills in the areas of geometry, earth science, and social conformity allowed her to continue writing throughout the duration of her undergraduate years at the University of Iowa and graduate years at Sarah Lawrence College. Her work has appeared in “Word Is Bond, Earthwords:The Iowa Undergraduate Literary Review,” nthposition.com, and Dirtpress. She currently works as an underpaid, underappreciated, blissed-out galley girl in Ptown.
